Operations Manager – North Bavaria

Our Deutschland business was established in 2013. It started with the production of steel-based construction materials, and with further significant investments it added roofing and wall and purlins. In 2021 it added also a further small bespoke subsidiary in Lower Saxony and a sister business in Hesse/NRW.
The plant has grown to 120 people and because of the further growth (the plan is to add in 2025 another 15 people), there is a need to strengthen the team with a new Operations Manager, overseeing production planning, production and transport.
The role will get the keys in hands to manage and optimize the operational elements that contribute to the financial result of the company.

Required skill-set
We are looking for an entrepreneurial person that has the creativity to see opportunities to improve processes, optimize new products and volumes and can think outside of the box. At the same time, must have the rigor to strive for excellent execution of the daily operations.
We are looking for a self-organized person that takes initiative and brings solutions, rather than a person who just wants to execute instructions. Initiative is KEY..
Environment
The company is very customer oriented with a short lead time to market and fluctuating volumes due to seasonality. It collaborates with the mother company in Belgium and more and more with a recent acquisition in the Hesse/NRW region (80 persons).
The culture is no-nonsense and practical, with a aversion of bureaucracy and systems. We have high standards regarding safety and respect to all team members. We run a group program of decarbonization and sustainability which is a key focus.

DELIVERABLES

Responsible to the plant manager to deliver the agreed objectives in
oManufacturing Variances,
oWarranties,
oTransport Costs and
oOperational overheads.
ROLES
•Leader of the production, the production planning and logistics.
•Manage the HR; staffing, training, evaluations and minimise absence.
•Ensure the production Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
•Responsible for safety behaviour and safety results for the line employees.

KPI
•Report on the production KPI’s.
•Manage the line KPI’s as availability, utilization, scrap and line speed.
•Ensure the highest possible accuracy on warehouse quantities
•Champion the ethos of continuous improvement throughout the site.
•On Time in Full delivery performance.

SYSTEMS AND QUALITY
•Maintain the standards in place ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 und 37301. Ensure all line QC checks are carried out as instructed.
•Analyse internal and external product claim and implement corrective actions
•Run product and process changes through the change procedures and manufacture as per product register in line with compliance policy.
