Engineering Project Manager/Lead Germany

Person specification
•A qualified, project, mechanical, electrical or control engineer
•Glass or stone wool experience in a senior engineering role

With a major Greenfield investment about to be undertaken, the need for a highly experienced Engineering Projects Manager has arisen. The scope will include coordinating the design phase of the stone wool line and be heavily involved in the selection of line suppliers, OEMs. Understand the installation process and supporting this aspect of the build. Oversee and coordinate the machine designs on-site and how they look and work. A more detailed specification below:
Scope –
•To take an agreed engineering layout drawing for an 80,000+ annual tonne stone wool plant to be built and to agree on the manufacturers OEM of each part of the plant, negotiate on price and final specification. A joint contact should be written with each supplier, including, machine specifications, costs, timelines and any penalty clauses.
•Work closely with our civil design team who have designed and achieved authorisation for the build.
•Select an electrical control company to work with, who will connect the elements of the line together and oversee their works and schedules
•Ensure the plant designed will operate and deliver the technical specification
•Be the engineering project leader in installing the equipment and ensure it is delivered on budget and on time, with no lost time accidents, for this you will need to spend most of the project build time onsite
•Build up your projects team
•Once the project is finished there are opportunities within the group to build and design other plants

Essential Criteria for the Role:

• Relevant third level qualification

  • Establish performance and delivery criteria, ensuring that client requirements are being met
  •  Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.

  •  Liaise with the client regarding the permitting of all works within the live environment and participate in the development of RAMS and relevant client permits.
  •  A strong understanding of the COHE policies and to liaise with various vendors and subcontractors in relation to LOTO of their equipment.
